Ashley Flooring have a thorough understanding of the need of the aviation industry including flooring that is resistance to aggressive lubricants such as Skydrol and Hyjet in addition to undertaking extensive line marking and demarcation colour schemes. In addition to hangar floors, we undertaken resin coatings to areas such as vehicle decks and aircraft docking platforms.
We have also undertaken extensive work in airports including areas such as cargo terminal floors, baggage handling areas and anti-slip areas in various airport environments around the world (please see images below).
Three recent case studies:-
(I) UNITED TECHNOLOGIES AVIATION SERVICES, Prestwick Airport – an aircraft engine maintenance facility with a total area of 23,500 sq. m. required a tough, anti-slip floor finish that would resist aggressive aviation lubricants. The answer from Ashley Flooring was to treat the oil-impregnated concrete and apply a high-chemical resistance, uv-resistant polyurethane coating system. click on image
(II) SAS Airlines, Stockholm Airport – problems occurred with the SAS hangar floor, where Skydrol hydraulic fluid was eating away the concrete surface. Ashley Flooring shot-blasted the floor and used a primer and two coats of polyurethane high-chemical resistance coatings to provide a slip-resistance and durable working area for maintaining their aircraft. click on image
(III) UNITED TECHNOLOGIES AVIATION SERVICES, – Autoclave Area, Prestwick Airport – a high-technology processing centre required a heavy-duty coating with good heat resistance.
